Almost everyone knows by now that YouTube now offers higher quality versions of videos.  Now, there is a hack available that will allow you to watch videos in 720p resolution.  By adding &fmt=22 at the end of the url, you can enable the 720p resolution.  For this to work, the original video must have been uploaded in 720p or higher resolution. Here is a demo url of the video in 720p resolution - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BackVa-YU7M&fmt=22 You should compare the original, higher quality and 720p resolution if you want to see the difference in quality. Now, it would have been nice if all videos uploaded on Youtube were in 720p or higher resolution.  Therefore, it is highly recommended that you upload videos in original video resolution and avoid any conversions before the upload. According to new research, New optical network component has been developed that is able to encrypt data traveling at 100G bps (bits per second).  The component will allow carriers and large enterprises to secure all the data that travels over a high-speed WAN (wide-area network) connection.   The optical encryption works differently when compared to electronic encryption system but it can provide same level of encryption strength.  The coder for encrypting date has successfully encrypted and decrypted traffic traveling at 40 Gbps connection over a distance of 248 miles.  In lab, the coder has demonstrated the same over a 100 Gbps connection.
